This year, NID embarked on a new and exciting Inter-venue League. This was run over three shows and both NID and DI members were eligible to take part. There were some fabulous prizes on offer from embroidered rugs, numnahs and boots. No one can deny that the competition was fierce and those fabulous prizes were hotly sought after!
The Preliminary class was sponsored by the Auburn Equine Clinic. It was Linda McIlwaine on her consistent horse, Beechmount Baxter, who won this class, with Joanne Jarden on SBT Upmarket close on their heels. Third place went to Lisa Dundee on her mount, Loughries Look Now.
The Novice class was kindly sponsored by Premier Saddlery, a popular saddlery established in 1997 to cater for the equestrian requirements of County Armagh. In this class Joanne Jarden was awarded first, second and fourth place on her mounts: MJI Wendy, Drunken Relation and MJI Belle Bonita. Well done Joanne! Alexa Grudgings riding Cassado took the third spot and Debbie Cherry on Mostro snatched up the fifth place.
Trotup.com, a company which offers hassle-free equestrian classifieds, sponsored the Elementary class. This time, it was Alexa who trotted into the top spot, with Joanne taking the blue and yellow rosettes. Ellen McKeown on her horse, Milky Way, took up the fourth place and Kate Worthington on Wicolda was awarded fifth place. Emma Andrews and her mount, The Elf, took the sixth spot.
Lagan Construction very kindly offered to sponsor our final three classes – the Medium, Advanced Medium and Open class. In the Medium section, it was Lisa Dundee and Deja Vu Roundthorn who took the red rosette and Elaine Morrow on Ardenza Gem were awarded second place. For the Advanced Medium, Lucinda Webb-Graham on her striking horse, Zidane took first place and Elaine Morrow again slotted into second. For the Open section, it was Lucy Adams on the stunning Get-Set who won, with Lucinda getting the blue rosette and Dale Roberts and his mount, Enigma, taking the third placing.
Congratulations to all the winners and competitors! Also, a huge thank you to our sponsors.
